1 Jan 1 was Jan Berry's name while recording for Lou Adler's Ode Records. Berry signed with Ode Records in 1972. This was a reunion of Berry and Adler as they had worked together from 1959 to 1961 when Lou Adler and Herb Alpert produced several Jan and Dean records. Later, as an A&M Records artist, he recorded under his own name.
