Aaron Neville

"Me and Trisha Yearwood just won a Grammy for 'I Fall to Pieces.' That was so cool. We both just came into the studio and started singing, and it was like we'd been singing together for a long time. People have got to realize that people are just people and good music is good music. It's really like Bob Marley said, 'One love, one heart.'"

THE GRAND TOUR

The album was released on April 20, 1993. On July 19, "The Grand Tour" single was released. In Nashville, A&M worked with another Universal Music Label, Mercury Records on promotion. The song was originally made a hit by George Jones 19 years earlier so was known as a country song. The song was promoted with a music video and Aaron Neville visiting country radio stations, plus five national television appearances in July 1993. Some radio stations were reluctant to add the song because Neville was a successful adult contemporary artist and known as one of the Neville Brothers, but did not have a name or what they thought of as commitment to the country genre. Those stations that added it quickly found it became a top listener request. At the time it was easier for an established country artist to crossover to pop.
