From August 1974 to March 1975 Albert Lee toured with A&M Records artist Joe Cocker. Albert Lee first signed with A&M Records in 1975. He and A&M were disappointed with the tracks for an album and decided against moving forward with the project.

In 1979, Lee re-signed with A&M Records and released his first solo album Hiding.
