The group was only signed to A&M Records in the United States. It had an international deal with Polydor.

The promotional campaign for the single "Captain of Her Heart" was 12 weeks long. The single was sent to adult contemporary radio stations two weeks before to 40 radio.

The piano on "The Captain of Her Heart" was done in one take.
