Gallagher & Lyle
A&M Records signed Gallagher and Lyle in 1973 and in 1974, Gallagher and Lyle signed a worldwide songwriting deal with Rondor Music. They were associated with several A&M artists and bands including Ronnie Lane, Elkie Brooks, Joan Armatrading, Sandy Denny, Fairport Convention and Jim Diamond.
Gallagher and Lyle opened for Supertramp. Doug Chappell, Graham Lyle, Benny Gallagher, JP Guilbert and Jim Monaco.
The duo recorded six album for A&M in five years. Their last A&M album came in 1978.
In 1975 they toured as a supporting act for Supertramp. Also on the bill was Chris DeBurgh.
In 1976 Mike Ledgerwoos, A&M Records, Ltd. publicity, brought Gallagher and Lyle to Canada to promote their album Breakaway. Here they are seen with A&M Canada staff.

A&M Records, Ltd. Managing Director Derek Green: "We went through three albums together and on to Breakaway,--a record born out of pure anger between us, because they thought they were going nowhere. We were beginning to hate each other and that's always a great circumstance because you get a positive reaction."
