Pharoahs 2000
Former member of the Gin Blossoms formed Pharaohs 2000. Signed to A&M Records in November 1997. The band's debut album was to be titled From Beyond the Back Burner. The producer of the album was John Hampton who had produced the Gin Blossoms. The album was never released because A&M Records was absorbed into Universal Music Group.
About the album, Robin Wilson told The Las Vegas Sun, "It's a lot more metallic and new wave in nature than people will expect. I'm really psyched about that. There's a couple songs people will not expect in the likely evolution of the Gin Blossoms. I think we have a different sound than what's on the radio right now--even though we're ripping off everyone we're ever heard....This is something new that I'm more excited about than I ever was about the Gin Blossoms. It's more like the bands I imagined being in when I was a kid."
Rock 'n' Rebirth: Pharaohs 2000. Melissa Schorr. Las Vegas Sun, January 14, 1999.
