Y&T

Y&T worked for commercial success for ten years. The band had difficulty getting radio airplay. The band felt the problem was timing. The group was gaining prominence when disco became a phenomenon followed by punk rock. Audiences headed for clubs instead of arenas which meant  live bands found it hard to get bookings.

The "Mean Streak" video created interest in the album. The ABC News series Nightline used it in a violence in video segment. Ted Koppel introduced the song saying, "Here's a group that's really disgusting."

In 1984 Y&T had Phil Kennemore's brother build a 7-foot tall robot for use at in-store appearances and in video.
